Well, I am writing this a lot earlier that normal because I can see myself falling in a heap shortly if Uncle Peter and his Scotch, Lime and Soda have anything to do with it!
The stay started well. We all got organized and were on the road to Kinglake by 10.15 am. We arrived in Whittlesea at around 11.30 and met up with Pete and Jules for a lovely coffee and chat. ( Julie was so embarrassed because the festival that she thought was on today is actually next weekend! The Whittlesea Country Music Festival!)
So, after a cuppa and a catch up, we headed up the mountain to Pheasant creek and had another quick coffee before we decided to head towards Flowerdale with the kids for a play in the creek.
They had an absolute ball trying to build a dam out of fallen bark and sipping on jelly fruits.
We the headed into Flowerdale for lunch and, by this stage, I must say, I was starving!
The only pre prepared foods on offered were deep fried rubbish and some heavily filled white bread sandwiches. I ended up buying a mini Vaalia yogurt, a pack of rice thins, some dip and a Coke Zero instead.
We sat by the creek and had a beautiful lunch.
It was getting quite warm so we decided to head back to Julie's where the kids changed and rested whilst the adults sat on the back veranda having, yes, you guessed it, another coffee. Pete wasn't going to let his "Drinking Partner" get away with that for too long so, before long there was a cold scotch, lime and lemonade in front of me.
It was soooo good.
The closest I got to exercise was going to check out the Pheasant Creek fitness club ( very impressed BTW!) but I knew that by the time we got back from our outing with the kids that they would be closed due to limited weekend hours.
Well, I guess we all gotta live a little.
So today all I can report is food wise, not too bad, exercise, nil and fun wise...EXCELLENT!!!!!
Neen xo
